I needof a windows laptop, mainly for skype with decent web cam /microphone as using for teaching French online. Looking at £400 or so. Any recommendations? Staying clear of HP due to bad experiences when you need support / parts.

Personally, I would ditch Windows and get a Chromebook.

Re: Recommendation
Yeah. Go to Argos or PC world with £400 and buy a lap-top that isn't a HP

Re: Recommendation
Sound's good enough for me but can't really comment on the webcam as I don't use it. I'm sure some of the reviews online will have info on it.

Sorry, I meant SSD drive like that one. You should be able to find one for £450 or less.

Roeder

I bought one of these just before Xmas and it's easily fast enough for the basic things I use it for. Obviously if you're planning on gaming etc on it then it probably won't be much use.

It's pretty lightweight as well.

Re: Recommendation
For laptops, I like the Lenovo. I would go for one with a HDD drive, 8GB RAM and Intel i5 processor.

Or consider getting an iPad.
